Dr. Michael Kausch“Dear Bill, sooner or later, there won’t be a PC, not on a desk, nor in a home. There won’t be even a desk.”

I am the owner and CEO of vibrio. Kommunikationsmanagement Dr. Kausch GmbH.

Before founding vibrio in October 1992 I worked at Microsoft from 1987 to 1992 as press officer and head of public relations at first and later divisional head of marketing communications in DACH and CEE. In this post I was in charge of the public relations, advertisement, direct marketing, events and pre sales customer services divisions.

Having worked in the IT industry for over 25 years, today I focus on strategic and conceptual consultancy and coaching in the areas of integrated corporate and marketing communications, crisis PR and strategic social media marketing.

From 1993 to 2000 I was also director and publisher of redmonds’s technology publishing, which I founded. This publishing house issued the renowned IT trade magazines „Microsoft System Journal“, „Office Journal“ and „IT Journal“ as well as the „redmond’s inside“ business information services among others. With about one hundred training titles published redmond’s ranked as one of the leading providers of German language learnware and IT training materials until its acquisition by the Süddeutscher Verlag publishing house in 2000. In 1995 I founded the „German Software Register GmbH“ (GSR) as a register of software trademarks. The GSR was sold in 1998.

During and following my studies in communications, sociology, economics and psychology which resulted in my graduation as a Dr. rer. Pol. (Doctor of Political Science) I was actice in journalism and research. Apart from a number of papers in the field of new technology and internet culture, I published two books on cultural and media theory.

My interests can be summed up in five city names: Bordeaux (wine), Arles (photography), Frankfurt (books), Munich (high end) and Brussels (saxophone).
